In the second playoff played on 25 Apr 2009, the last 5 person were selected to enter the finals. They are Daryl Lim, Bernard Tang, Eddie Low, Roger Liu and Clement Cheong.

Only Daryl Lim and Eddie Low stayed consistently within the top 5 throughout all the rounds and they had a comfortable win.

The first top 5 La Rochelle Qualifiers
goes into finals
Updated: 19 March 2009
In the first playoff, 5 players outshone
the rest to enter the finals of the La Rochelle selection
event. They are James Quek, Albert Chia, Andy Tan,
Abd. Jamal and Lawrence Lee.
In the playoffs, the 10 qualifiers played
in a round robin fashion. Each game were scored according
to the points or marks received and legs won, rather
than on the win itself. And in response to players
requests, the event is played in the air-conditioned
comfort of the wine-bar. All La-Rochelle qualifying
events will be played in this setting.
Right from the first leg of the sequence
of games played, James Quek was leading the pack with
a comfortable lead. Midway through, the top 4 scorers
were already clear and the battle was in the fight
for the 5th position. Lawrence Lee had a small lead
and managed to hold on to the lead until the end.
These top 5 players will be playing in
the finals on 2nd May, together with 5 other top players
that will be selected from the second playoffs, which
are now playing. Sign-up for the qualifying events
if you have not done so!
